Waxy, concentrated, zesty.
O'Rourke's Peak Cellars is owned by Edmonton businessman Dennis O'Rourke who maintains a 300-acre property of vineyards and orchards called Carrs Landing, and 7-acres around the Peak Cellars Winery in Lake Country; in total, 110-acres of estate vines.
A rarity in Canada, this Austrian variety is a bit of a geek wine and Peak's shows well. Notes of preserved lemons and nettle, bee pollen, yellow plums and unripened green pears lead to a dry and notably zesty palate. Almost waxy in texture it has hint of wild herbs melded with citrus. It has a powerful and concentrated form.
